The Get Up Kids reunion show last night was absolutely fucking AMAZING! I had the time of my life despite having one of the worst colds I've ever had. I'm completely miserable, but going home is not an option yet. We have a four star (non-refundable) hotel booked for tonight in downtown KC!
Anyway, the show was so great. They played straight through Something to Write Home About, then came back for an encore where the played another 9-10ish songs such as Ann Arbour, Campfire Kansas, and Mass Pike. Then, they came back for ANOTHER encore and played Walking On a Wire to end the show.

They filmed it and the DVD will be out this fall, or so I hear. Can't wait for it to come out so I can relive it!

So...I'm pretty excited. I came home tonight to find a letter stating that I am receiving The Early Education Professional of the Year Award for 2008. Woohoo! I didn't even know that I was in the running for any sort of award. Very exciting!

I am waaaay too attached to the children I take care of. It's a real problem. One of them is moving to a different day care and I am so torn up about it. Caring too much really sucks.

I shopped for nine hours today with my mama. Wow. We do the black friday thing every year, but that was a record for us. I love buying people presents. I love the holidays. I love my husband.

Oh no, our company was sold to a bigger company. Oh no! They've assured us that nothing will change...welllll, except for the yellow polo shirts and dress pants law. OH NO!

I only recently learned of the existence of tonsil stones and it thoroughly grossed me out. Tonight, I saw a video of a doctor actually cleaning tons of huge tonsil stones out of some chicks tonsils. Oh my god. That video will now haunt my memory for the rest of my life. I don't know if I can keep on living. If you have tonsils, please stay away from me. Thanks.

Well, it's been a while.

I'm home today. We don't have as many kids at work in the summer, so they send teachers home everyday. We've been taking turns and nobody else wanted to go today. I took the opportunity, as I was pretty frustrated with how the day was going anyway.

Since my last post, my computer took a giant poop on me. Bought a new one (which isn't the end of the world, that sucker was getting old), but Haddock couldn't recover anything from my hard drive. We sent it to Drive Savers and now I'm anxiously waiting to hear what can be recovered. Luckily, about 90% of my photos are on my external, but all of my honeymoon and wedding photos, addresses, music, contracts, etc were on that hard drive, so we're shelling out up to $2200 to get it all back. Shitty.

Baby Olivia had surgery on Tuesday. She isn't growing fast enough due to her not being able to absorb the nutrients that she needs. It's a lovely side effect of her cystic fibrosis. The bitch refuses to take a bottle, so that really wasn't helping either. They had to insert a tube into her abdomen that feeds directly to her stomach, so now they can force feed her fatty formula to help get her weight up. Another shitty thing.

I threw Karah a huge bridal shower last Saturday. Spent a huge amount of money and spent a day and a half cooking, then like 3 people came. Pretty awesome. Kinda wish she would have wanted to invite more than 9 people. Oh well, it was still fun.

I guess that's about it in my hugely exciting world.

Well, we have about 600 amateur photos from the wedding, but we are still waiting on the professional photos.
I figured I'd throw up a few of my favorites for the world to see. I will post more later when I get the good ones.

A few wedding photos from family and friends... )

Fuck the staff at the Renaissance Savery Hotel! So what if they gave me my dream wedding...those fuckers ate over $100 in leftover chocolate bars from Stam. Those were my chocolate bars! And if you've tasted Stam chocolates, you can understand why I'm ticked. I was going to give those out to my friends at work. : (
Dammit!

I will be posting photos soon, I swear it. Pro photos should be in early this week. Lots of good ones from friends and family if you go to my Facebook.

We had the wedding of our dreams and an incredible honeymoon.

Unfortunately, the real world has been harsh here at home.
As I posted before, Grandpa Lester passed away the day before our wedding. It was really hard to get through that day, but I think he gave us all the strength to make it through the wedding and for me, even through the honeymoon. Now that we are home though now, things are becoming difficult. Grandma Gladys (Lester's wife) had a wicked heart attack on Wednesday morning while we were on our honeymoon. She's still in the hospital and is doing a little better. Try to keep her in your prayers, please. She will be in the hospital for a few more days atleast, having surgery tomorrow morning. She will need to be moved to skilled care when she is released.

I feel terrible for my Mom...losing her dad and now having to spent 24/7 in the hospital with her mom. She's working so hard to be strong and take care of everyone, but I know she's having a rough time. : (

I have to go back to work tomorrow. And that sucks.

On a lighter note, we are married! I married my man! We love each other and we will get through everything.

Whoa now, I'm getting married TOMORROW!

The festivities have begun...my mom was in town for two days, I've picked up my wedding dress, dropped off all of our shit at the hotel, went out to dinner with a bunch of Reece's family that I've never met.
Things are starting to happen! It's so exciting, yet I am VERY nervous. I get nervous over the littlest things, so right now my stomach is about ready fly out of my throat.

Keep your fingers crossed that it doesn't rain!!!!

Reece and I took a night out away from all the wedding silliness last night. Sex and the City movie!! I've been waiting for this for a very long time and it turned out to be a pretty good movie.
It was a real vagina-fest in that place. It was totally PACKED and there were probably about 10 guys in the whole theater. It was ridiculous, because there were a lot of "oooohs" and "aaaaahs" from the crowd when shoes, closets, and babies were shown on the screen. Girls are annoying.
Anyway, I was not let down by the film.
I hear there are going to be 2 more of them? As much as I LOVE Sex and the City, I seriously hope there are not 2 more movies. What the hell else could they do with them?

Got our first wedding gift in the mail today. Hooray for black shelving! I know I've become incredibly domestic when I am absolutely thrilled about receiving shelving.

I came home sick today, throwing up in excessive amounts.
When I'm not throwing up though, I feel okay.

Anyway, here's a photo. Reece, don't click here. REECE, DO NOT CLICK ON IT, DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!

She's gonna be a bride in 16 days. )

Oh, and the wedding too, of course.

Other great things:
Mates of State's new album came out on Tuesday. It's a good one.
Sex and the City movie comes out a week from today. Hugely excited about this.
Weezer's new album comes out June 2nd.

We are 6 weeks away. SIX WEEKS AWAY!
I'm officially starting to flip out. Not because I'm nervous about the wedding or getting cold feet or anything. I'm freaking out about getting everything done. We still have a lot of details to work out, plus probably about an additional 600 things that I haven't even thought of.
I'm taking next Wednesday off to get lots of wedding stuff done...meet with the new wedding coordinator at the hotel, order favors, meet with the bakers, buy wedding related crap, and finally, have the wrap up session with the wedding planner.

When you all get married, have a small wedding. Trust me.
